Diagnostic Testing
The key to successfully treating your pain lies in knowing what particular structure is causing your pain (disks, nerves, muscles, or joints).
An accurate diagnosis is the foundation for providing pain relief. Precise, image-guided, evidenced-based diagnostic tests are utilized by Dr. Janiga to identify your pain-generating structure-- providing you, in most cases, a definitive diagnosis.
MRI's, CT scans, and EMG's are used to determine abnormalitites but these tests do not consistently explain why a patient is in pain. Combining the results of image-guided diagnostic tests with your history, physical exam, and radiographic images is the only consistent means to determine why you are in pain.
These tests are useful only if the physician performing these tests understands:
WHEN to perform each test
WHAT each test's strengths and weaknesses are
WHICH intervention is appropriate for you.
Tests will either be positive (relieves your pain) or negative (does not relieve your pain).
Dr. Janiga has the training, knowledge and experience to properly utilize and interpret these diagnostic tests. Diagnostic tests performed at MIPA include:
Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar Selective Nerve Root Injection Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar Discography Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar Sympathetic Ganglion Injection
